Susan Kathlene Green

Susan Kathlene Green passed away at the age of 74, on February 22, 2025, at home in Paden, Oklahoma. Susan was born on November 3, 1950, in Greeley Colorado to Carol June Wheeler and Walter William Wheeler.

Susan was an avid florist for over 30 years. She owned Del City Flower Shop in the 1980’s and worked at Morrison’s Floral in OKC. She was always known to have a green thumb. She could tell you anything you wanted to know about flowers & trees, from how to care for them to what family it belonged to. Susan was known to have some of the most beautiful floral arrangements and was highly sought after to coordinate and arrange weddings. She once took an order for Garth Brooks’ mom’s funeral; the order was placed by John Travolta. She found that very exciting.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Gary Leon Nichols; parents, Walter and June Wheeler; daughter, Lora Lee Sparks-Green; brothers, Carl Wheeler and Robert Wheeler.

She is survived by her partner Hobart Elam, of 22 years; daughter, Gloria Scott and husband, Joe Scott, of Del City; as well as her grandchildren: Whitney Huff and husband, Matthew Huff, of OKC; Darren Thomas and wife, Spring Thomas, of Harrah; Shane Thomas of Muldrow; Chanze Sparks & Ravyn Sparks of Elk, Washington; and her great grandchildren: Carson Thomas, Carter Thomas, Nolan Huff, Hudson Sparks; along with many nieces & nephews.

Susan dearly loved her daughters, but her grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be missed by her family, and although there is a hole in their hearts, she will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held at Crossroads Connection Church at 1628 S. Harrah Rd, Harrah, OK. 73045 on March 14, 2025, at 12 pm. Flowers can be arranged for delivery by contacting Gloria Scott through Facebook messenger.
