Steven (Steve) E. Denton, 67, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, died December 26, 2024, after suffering a stroke. He was born in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, on July 21, 1957, to Billy Gene Denton and Mary Alice (Garner) Denton.

After graduating from Shawnee High School in 1975, Steve took some courses in trade school. He also worked in ground maintenance at OBU during the summer. In January of 1976, he went to work for TDK in Shawnee and worked in several different departments. He retired in September of 2020 as a senior maintenance technician.

Steve met Terri Johnson for the third time in 1981, and they were married in August of 1982. They raised four children: Cassandra, Patrick, Kyle, and Jessica. After retiring in 2020, Steve spent his time fishing, square dancing, and riding his Harley while traveling with Terri and special friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary Denton of Shawnee; son, Patrick Pickens; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Georgia Johnson of Ada; brother-in-law, Dewy Ballard of Tahlequah; and several aunts and uncles.

Steve is survived by his wife, Terri; daughters: Cassandra Bohannon and husband, John, of Earlsboro and Jessica Denton of Wewoka; son, Steven Kyle Denton of Wewoka; daughter-in-law, Natasha Pickens; four grandsons: Lucky and Chance Bohannon and Nicholas and Shane Pickens; one granddaughter, Kaitelyn Bohannon; three great grandchildren: Aspen Rae, Langston Don and Ryker John; two sisters, Chrystal Schimmel and husband, Dennis, and Melody Ballard; two nieces and their children; and some very special friends who Steve called family.
