Robert Claud Eitel (Pops), age 71, of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away on August 15, 2024, after a long battle with non-alcoholic cirrhosis. He was born in El Reno, Oklahoma, on December 18, 1952, to Claud Holman Eitel and Pearl Rose (Love) Eitel.
Robert graduated from Del City High School in 1972. He met Ann Turk in 1973 and they wed in 1974. They were blessed with three children, Robert Jason, Jeremy and Mary.
After high school, Robert worked in several different jobs including upholstery work. Then he obtained a position as a mechanical component repair tech at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He retired from civil service in 1991.
Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially loved to spend time with his kids, grandkids, brother and friends. After retiring, due to his health, he spent a lot of time going to doctors and watching TV. He watched a lot of Gunsmoke and Walker Texas Ranger reruns.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Claud and Pearl Eitel,
Robert is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Jason and Jeremy and his wife, Lisa; daughter, Mary; three grandchildren: Nicholai McLaughlin, Olivia Eitel, Mya Torres; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Robert was loved very much and will be greatly missed, but he is no longer in pain.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, September 7, 2024, 1:00 pm, at son's home: 315 S. Anderson Rd., Choctaw, Oklahoma 73020. Dress is casual. Food will be provided, but please bring your lawn chairs.
