Robert Irvin Budka, age 77, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on February 3, 2025, in Shawnee.
Bob was born in North Judson, Indiana, to Edward Budka and Blanche (Fisher) Budka. He was raised in Knox, Indiana, and after he graduated from Knox High School in 1965, he attended cosmetology school and received his beautician license. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army and sent to Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division. After returning from Vietnam, Bob married Alice Smith on April 19, 1969, in Knox, Indiana, where they lived until 1982, at which time they moved to Shawnee.
Bob worked for the City of Shawnee for many years, and he also worked at Sears in the lawn and garden center. He loved cutting hair, fishing, interior decorating, gardening, and drawing. He also loved his dogs, especially Trooper.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Blanche Budka, and his brother, Joe Budka.
Bob is survived by his wife, Alice, of the home; daughter, Kristi Budka, of Ft. Worth, Texas; son, Gregory Budka and wife, Sheryl, of Shawnee; son, Keith Budka and wife, Sherri, of Shawnee; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Budka of Indiana; three sisters: Alice Swihart of Indiana, Janice Rich of Indiana, and Peggy Moore of Florida; and many extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, 3:00 p.m., at AE Funeral Services Chapel, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804.
