William “Neal” Motley, 63, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away on February 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with lewy body dementia.
Neal was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on August 16, 1961, to Jerry Paul and Willis Faye (Parker) Motley. He attended Tecumseh Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1980. He was a four-year letterman in football, basketball and baseball. He was a member of the state runner-up baseball team in 1980.
While in high school, Neal met his future wife, Pamela Renae Vickery. They were married on May 21, 1982, in an outdoor ceremony at the home of his parents. This union was blessed with two daughters, Andrea and Amanda, and one son, Tyler.
In 1984, Neal began his career as a firefighter EMT for the Shawnee Fire Department, kicking off his career of nearly 29 years for the City of Shawnee. He retired in May of 2012 from the fire department and spent more time golfing, fishing and enjoying other water activities at Lake Eufaula. He also enjoyed spending more time with his grandsons. Neal cherished his children and thought they were his whole world until the grandchildren came along!
Neal was a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and was very proud of his native American heritage. He considered Dr. Braden Parmer and the entire staff at the east clinic as friends.
Neal touched the lives of so many throughout his life.
Neal was predeceased by his parents, Jerry Paul and Willis Faye Motley, and his only granddaughter, Peyton Renae Sturgill.
Neal is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pamela Renae Motley, of the home; daughter, Andrea Rector and husband, Ben, of Harrah, Oklahoma; daughter, Amanda Sturgill and husband, Tanner, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; son, Tyler Motley and wife, Amanda, of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma; grandsons: Tate, Logan and Scout Rector, Tripp and Tucker Motley, Casen and Dace Sturgill; sister, Paula Motley Jackson of Cromwell, Oklahoma; other family members, and a host of friends.
