Michael Robert Burnham, Jr.

Michael Robert Burnham, Jr., age 62, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, died tragically on May 22, 2024. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 13, 1961, to Wanda May (Marrs) Lee and was adopted by Robert Burnham, Sr.

After high school, Michael joined the United States Army in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. After he honorably served his country in the military, he chose carpentry as his profession and helped build many homes in the Shawnee area from 1997 until he had a fall from a roof. Although he had lost the function of one of his lungs due to tuberculosis, he continued to work on home remodels and repairs. He also worked for several neighbors doing lawn work. He loved gospel singing, reading and animals. His passion, however, was for helping anyone in need. Michael had such a kind and gentle soul, and he never put himself first. He will be dearly missed.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Lee, and stepfather, Billy Joe Lee.

Michael is survived by his sisters, Jennifer and Sharon; uncles, Kenneth and Charles; aunts, Barbara and Mary Ann; nieces, Virginia and Jessica; great nephews, Braxton and Preston; great niece, Mariana; other relatives, and a host of friends.
