Lawrence Alvin Chasteen

Lawrence Alvin Chasteen, age 79, of Lexington, Oklahoma, passed away on January 28, 2025. He was born in Hartford, Arkansas, on February 1, 1945, to James Aire Chasteen and Francis Faye (Wheatley) Chasteen.

After finishing high school, Lawrence served in the United States Air Force. He married Barbara Bozeman on December 26, 1965, and they raised one son, two daughters, and one adopted son. He worked as a welder at the Boardman Steel Co., and later, he was a nurse’s aide at the Veterans Nursing Center in Norman, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Masonic lodge. He enjoyed fishing, and fishing trips were his favorite family memories. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his treasured accomplishments.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, James and Francis Chasteen; son, Larry Dale Chasteen; and his brothers.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Jason Chasteen; two daughters, Penny Nowakowski and Deanna Chasteen Sullivan; five grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Ramona Chasteen Jackson; numerous other relatives, and a host of friends.
