Jessie Leo Thomas, Sr., a resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed from this life on March 25, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born in Bakersfield, California, on November 22, 1946. The proud parents were Joe Lee Thomas and Willie Mae (Wall) Thomas.
Jessie married Mary Dawn Pinson in Amarillo, Texas, in 1970. He was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation. He proudly served in the United States Army for 23 years as a supply sergeant, and performed other duties that he always would say, “I would tell you, but I would have to kill you!”. He served nineteen months in Vietnam, two tours in Germany, two in Maryland, one in Michigan, two in Oklahoma and one in Missouri. After his military career, Jessie loved working on his little farm and caring for his cows. He was a hard-working man and could pretty much outwork everyone else. He was a big OU fan.
Jessie was a great dad! His son, Jessie, Jr., was his “pride and joy”. Jessie and Travis, his second son, were “best friends” and loved to watch “Wheel of Fortune” together. Both of his daughters were known as “Daddy’s girl”.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Jessie is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Jessie Leo Thomas, Jr. of Moore, OK and Travis Joe Lee Thomas of the home; daughters, Danyela and Barbara Thomas, both of Tecumseh, OK; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one brother; 5 sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
