James Dean Ramsey

James Dean Ramsey of Crescent, Oklahoma, passed away tragically on September 24, 2024. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on May 2, 1974, to Jimmy Dale Ramsey and Joyce (Davoult) Ramsey.

James’ family moved to Harrah, Oklahoma, when he was two years old. He grew up there and graduated from Choctaw High School. Growing up James enjoyed playing all types of sports and was part of the local FFA. He attended OSU Technical School for a short time and later became a mechanic who could fix about anything.

James had a sense of adventure and loved to work on things especially his Harley. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed all types of hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. He especially loved to “noodle” for catfish. 

James never stopped dreaming and always had a new dream. He had a heart of gold and was always there if you needed him. His smile brightened any room he entered. His grandsons, who called him “Papa”, loved him dearly. He was one of everyone’s favorite uncles.

James was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Ramsey; grandparents, James and Verna Ramsey and Billy Dean and Rena Mae Davoult; and stepdaughter, Gabriella Tubby.

James is survived by his wife, Staci Ramsey of the home; mother, Joyce Ramsey; sister, Joy Tweeten and husband, William; brother, Billy Ramsey; daughters, Elizabeth Paige and Bailey; son, Trevor and wife, Kristyn; grandsons, James and Robert; stepchildren, Justus Butts and Lindsey Stovalle; 10 step grandchildren; nieces: Samantha, Courtney, Kendra, and Alisha; nephews, Tony and Randall; many other relatives and a host of friends.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 10:30 a.m., at Harrah Memory Lane Cemetery, 20451 NE 10th St., Harrah, Oklahoma 73045.
