Henry Jones

Henry Nelson Jones, 75, passed from this life December 31, 2022. Henry was born September 30, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia, to James Shelby Jones and Lillie Marden (Black) Jones. He was a long-time resident of Shawnee, OK.
Henry was a hard worker, even as a teenager, when he began driving a truck. As a young man, he joined the United States Navy and proudly served in Vietnam. Henry retired as an aircraft mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City, OK.
Henry loved to laugh and spend time with his family, especially his brother Junior. He cherished sharing his colorful memories about Polk Street in Amarillo, Texas. Henry truly enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing, and detailing cars. He also took great pleasure in simply strolling down the aisles of Walmart.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Shelby, Lawrence, and Franklin Jones and Maynor Black, and sister, Shirley Powers.
Henry is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, James and Jeron Jones of Tecumseh, OK; daughter, Lori Jones of CA; grandchildren: Isiah Jones, Destiny Shepperd, and Alexis Jones; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Mickie Cook and Dorothy Yates; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, Monday, January 9, 2023, at AE Funeral Services, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, OK 74804.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 9, 2023, at Tecumseh Cemetery, 18800 South Gordon Cooper Dr, Shawnee, OK 74801. Military honors will be rendered during this time.
