Glynita Gail Johnson

Glynita Gail Johnson, age 65, of McLoud, Oklahoma, passed away on January 18, 2025. She was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on June 22, 1959, to Hurshal Lee Cox and Mickey (Hale) Spencer. 

Gail married Mark A. Johnson on August 6, 1976. She was a homemaker and had one daughter, Summer. She enjoyed cleaning her house, working in the yard, going to Wes Watkins Lake to watch nature, and going camping and smelling the campfires. She also liked doing yardwork with her mother on Wednesdays, going out to grab a hamburger or going shopping. Gail loved going on ‘spur of the moment’ trips with her husband and spending time with her daughter and grandson, Charles. One of her greatest life lessons was not finishing high school, so she always encouraged her daughter to graduate. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee.

Gail is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter, Summer Johnson; grandson, Charles Jones; father, mother, and stepfather who raised her, Floyd Thomas Spencer; brother, Ricky Cox and wife, Darlene, and brother, David Cox and wife, Letha; numerous nieces and other family members; and a host of friends.
