Elizabeth Sue Maize, 65, of Cedar Lake in Hinton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, surrounded by many family members. She was born on January 11, 1959, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Louis Cochell and June Marshall.

Sue was a loving mother, sister, and friend who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was deeply devoted to her two sons, Jesse and Sammy, and her daughter-in-law, Cherry, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Sue was also a proud sister to Mark Cochell, Kevin Cochell, Lana Moseby, and Beverly Ormsby, and a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Sue’s life was marked by her passion for crafts, painting, long walks, gardening, and homemaking. She was a creative soul who found peace in nature and joy in caring for her home and loved ones. She took great pride in creating a warm, inviting environment for her family, and spent many treasured hours with her sons, making memories that will last forever.

Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon Maize; her parents, Louis Cochell and June Marshall; and her grandmother, Margaret Cochell, with whom she spent many joyful summer vacations in Mercer, Missouri.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. 

Sue will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

The family would like to thank Mayes Home Health and the special ladies, Sara and Faye.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, 3:00p.m., at AE Funeral Services Chapel, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, Oklahoma, 74804.
