Doris Gween (Moore) Hudson, of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Doris and family were long-time residents of Stroud. She was the daughter of Henry Stephen Moore and Dorothy Marie (Lindermyer) Moore. She was born on May 6, 1942, in Leesville, Louisiana. Doris married her husband of 48 years, Rondle LeRoy Hudson, on October 14, 1960, in Del City, Oklahoma, and together they had three children.
Doris was a devout Christian and prioritized her love and faith in the Lord. She loved helping with church dinners and making quilts for church raffles. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crafting, as well as teaching others to quilt, sew and craft.
Doris worked hard at serving the community by waiting tables at the Okie Steak House and Fireside Inn, as well as working in factories at the Diner Mills Garment Factory, Miss Elaine and Quickset. She also worked independently by ironing, taking in laundry, and babysitting.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her youngest daughter, Terry Lynn (Hudson) Kilcrease, and 4 siblings: her brother, Frank and sisters, Alice, Flaudie Mae, and Estelle.
Doris is survived by daughter, Gena Hudson-Greenfield and husband James of Chandler, OK, and son, Rondle Hudson II, and wife Tammy of Chandler, OK; sister, Beatrice (Moore) Wagoner of Houston, TX, and brother, Ricky A. Moore of Ace, TX; as well as four grandchildren: Tamara Cooper and husband Chris of Stroud, OK, Heather Pearson and husband Dave of Keller, TX, Austin Hudson and wife Lauren of Ringling, OK, and Hunter Hudson of Phoenix, AZ; 8 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, family members and close friends, all of which she loved dearly.
The family wishes to provide a special thank you to Luminos Hospice, Chandler, OK.
Doris will be greatly missed, and her Celebration of Life service will be held at the Stroud Christian Church in Stroud, Oklahoma, on May 6, 2025, @ 2pm.
