Daryle Wayne Sellers

Daryle Wayne Sellers, 74, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on December 9, 2024, due to complications associated with lung cancer. He was born on June 30, 1950, in Palmetto, Florida, to Charlie Sampson Sellers and Willie Mae (Fertic) Sellers.

Wayne attended Palmetto High School through 1968. After high school, Wayne married and was blessed with one son, Michael. Wayne entered the workforce and specialized in farming and construction. He spent many years in general construction and owned his own company. He retired from Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum in Branson, Missouri, where he oversaw all building maintenance for the museum.

Wayne’s immediate family was son, Michael Sellars and daughter-in-law, Lisa Sellars and grandchildren, Michael Gallagher and Cody Sellars.

After retiring, Wayne moved to Azle, Texas to spend more time with his son Michael and his family. Eventually, the entire family moved to Norman, Oklahoma where they established a new home on a large tract of land.

His true love was spending time in the garden with his family and fishing, much like his father. We know he’s in heaven now enjoying fried mullet and fresh peas with snaps talking about the big one that got away. Don’t forget the homegrown tomato on the side with salt and pepper too.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie “Putt” and Willie Mae “Granny” Sellers; brothers, Roy and Steve.

Wayne is survived by his son: Michael and wife, Lisa, of Norman, OK; grandchildren: Michael of Norman, OK and Cody of Ft Worth, TX; sister: Joyce Wolodzgo of Palmetto, FL; several nieces and nephews that loved him dearly; and many other loved ones and a host of friends.
