Beverly Ann Novey, 82, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, died July 21, 2024. She was born in Shawnee on March 30, 1942, to W.F. Hart and Margene (Mathews) Hart. She attended elementary school in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee High School.
Ann married Dayton Eugene Barnes, and they were blessed with two daughters, Shanna and Tamila. She later married David J. Novey, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2015. Ann started her working career at Blaines and then Sears. After working at Tinker Air Force Base for several years, she took an early retirement to provide childcare for her first two grandchildren until they entered school. She loved all 11 of her grandchildren with a passion. Her life was filled with love of family, friends and her best friend, Maddie, “her fur baby”, that was fed steak and Chick-fil-A on a weekly basis. Ann loved to bowl, and her team won the Senior Bowling League this past May. She loved getting together with the Class of 1960 at Bill Ford’s Farm to reminisce about the good old days growing up in Shawnee. Ann was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years and was proud of it. She loved to travel, including Europe, Alaska, and yearly visits to Creed, Colorado, in their motor home.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jon; her husband, David; and one grandson, Trey.
Survivors Include two daughters and sons-in-laws, Shanna and Kenny Tigner and Tamila and Tony Cross, all of Shawnee; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Tony Foster of Pearland, Texas; stepson, Stephen Moore of Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, including: sister-in-law, Penny Hart; niece, Allison Conner and nephew, Aaron Hart.
A special thanks goes to the staff of Cohesive Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care given to Ann.
