Allen Dale Simpson

Allen Dale Simpson, age 66, of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away on March 19, 2025. He was in Oklahoma visiting family at the time of death. He was born in Bloomington on September 6, 1958, to John Robert Simpson and Dorothy Mae (Piper) Simpson.

Allen worked as a freelance dry wall installer. He loved bicycling, camping, and shooting pool. He participated in Pack Rat bicycle events where they would ride anywhere from 35 to 100 miles. He also loved animals, especially cats, and had several as pets.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael Sandstrom, Roger Sandstrom, and Johnny Simpson; sisters, Shirley Sandstrom and Helen Simpson; nephew, Roger Moutaw; and great nephew, Zachery Sandstrom.

Allen is survived by his partner, Susan Jackson; daughter, Lyndsy Chase and fiancé, Cameron Velasquaz; grandson, Hendrix Woods, and granddaughter, Riley Quanstrom, of Pekin, Illinois; brother, Dennis Simpson and wife, Judy, of Texas; brother, James Simpson of Bloomington; sister, Victoria Holland and husband, Lowery, of Oklahoma; nephews: Jeffery Sandstrom, Emil (Erin) Sandstrom, Robert (Charlotte) Holland, Jesse Moutaw, Matthew Moutaw, and David Chappell; nieces: LaDawn Holland, Lisa Jones, Tammy (Casey) Sanders, Abigail Simpson, Toni Simpson, and Amber Simpson; several aunts and cousins; and numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
